Samuel “Sam” Frey

Samuel “Sam” Ray Frey, 78, of Stockport passed at 9:26 AM Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at Genesis Hospital.
He was born on Monday, April 21, 1947, in Plain City, Ohio the son of the late Benjamin S. Frey and Kathryn “Katie” Mae Miller Frey.
Sam went to Chester Hill School and Fairbanks High School in Marysville, Ohio. He was owner and operator of Attaboy Construction and also worked for Boyd Construction. He liked to hunt, fish, farm, and use his carpentry skills to build things. Sam was a “Jack of all trades”. He was a jokester; he could talk and tell jokes with anyone for hours.
He is survived by his wife, Marlene Frey, whom he married September 17, 1985; four children, Nathaniel (Robin) Frey, David Hedges, Dwayne (Sherry) Hedges and Julie (Jeff) Getzendiner; eleven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; four siblings, Mary (Larry) Woodyard, Christine Fernandez, Benjamin (Sharon) Frey and Marsha (Wayne) Ford; many nieces and nephews; and beloved dog, Ginger.
In addition to his parents, Sam was preceded in death by his twin brother, Daniel Frey; and a daughter Vickie Henson.
