Sandra West

Sandra “Sandy” Jean (Sigman) West, 71, of Byesville, passed away Friday (August 9, 2024) at The Morrison House of Zanesville.

She was born September 28, 1952 in Cambridge, daughter of the late Andrew Sigman and Florence (Thompson) Sigman.

A 1970 graduate of Meadowbrook High School, Sandy was a lifelong homemaker who dearly loved raising her children and grandchildren.

Sandy enjoyed taking photos of her family, scrapbooking, crafts, and going to yard sales. She had a knack for finding and restoring antiques that she found at the yard sales.

Most of all, she loved spending time with and spoiling her six grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Maralan McElroy, Mary “Cookie” Scott, Eddie Sigman, Raymond Sigman, Charlotte Melbar, Cheryl Sigman, and Donnie Sigman.

Sandy is survived by her husband, Kenny West, whom she married May 14, 1977; her children, Cassy (& Steve) Dyer and Curt (& Amber) West; her grandchildren, Rhett Dyer, Grace Dyer, Bentley West, Bryer West, Blakley West, and Blaire West; her sister, Pam (& Cecil) Callahan; her brothers-in-law, Chuck West and Bill (& Belinda) West; her sister-in-law, Donna (& Dave) Schlosser; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks to their family and friends who supported them the last four months, along with the Genesis Cancer Center, CCU, and The Morrison House for the care provided.

Graveside services and burial will be held at Greenwood Cemetery, Byesville, on Tuesday (August 13, 2024) at 11 a.m. with Heath Dawson officiating. Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville, is handling arrangements.
