Sandy Lee Minnick (September 25, 1960 – October 29, 2011)

Sandy Lee Minnick, 51 of Zanesville, OH died at 5:30am Saturday, October 29, 2011 at her home following a 12 year courageous battle with cancer.

She was born September 25, 1960 in New Lexington the daughter of Paul A. and Wilma C. (Boley) Jones.

Her grandchildren were the love of her life and she especially enjoyed spending time with them. Sandy had a huge heart, loved everyone and never met a stranger. She had worked over 25 years at the Barn where she was a familiar face to everyone.

She is survived by her father and stepmother Paul and Alice Jones of Zanesville, three children Amber Scheffler, Ashley (Leon) Draughn and Jordan Minnick all of Zanesville, four grandchildren Noah Scheffler, Alexis, Jersey and Camryn Draughn. 6 siblings Debra (Charles) Myers of New Lexington, Randy (Rita) Jones of Reynoldsburg, Edgar (Sharon) Jones of Thornville, Russell (Suzanne) Hull of Newark, Teri (Charles) Schucht of St. Clairsville, and Kristie (Doug) Pollock of Zanesville; numerous nieces and nephews and countless friends including Bill & Polly Steed, Jackie Theisen-Ellis, and Karen Smith. Sandy was preceded in death by her mother Wilma Boley Jones, and two special friends Larry Compton and her angel Mike.

Visitation will be held Monday, October 31st from 3 to 7pm with funeral service to immediately follow at 7pm at the Hillis & Hardwick Funeral Home, 935 Forest Ave. Sandy’s wishes were to be cremated and her ashes to be scattered over the ocean.
