Sarah Sands

Sarah B. Sands, 83 of Zanesville died at 5:25 AM Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at the Oaks at Northpointe under hospice care.
She was born on October 5, 1941, in Elkin, North Carolina, the daughter of Harvey Glenn Pardue and Hazel A. Finley Pardue.
Sarah was a member of Coburn United Methodist Church and attended Ohio University Zanesville, majoring in Nursing. She owned and operated Sands Mining alongside her husband Gene Sands and was a successful Realtor in Sonora, California where she resided for a period of time. Sarah was blessed with the creative gift of making beautiful things. She dedicated countless hours perfecting her craft; making quilts, rugs and crocheted items that she often gave to family and friends. Her creative work plays a part in the never-ending process of passing on these traditions to future generations by leaving behind cherished heirlooms and skills that will continue to live on.
She is survived by her children and their spouses; Tom and Barbara Sands, Tim and Carla Sands, Todd and Julie Sands and Tricia Sands; Grandchildren and Spouses: Travis and Elizabeth Sands, Tabitha and Adam McKenzie, John and Jenna Sands, Summer and Kyle Sims, Jenn and Loren Lander, Jessica and Sam Stonecypher, Sarah and Tyler Prose, Mary and Zach Robinson, Dillon Ryan and Sophie Quinn and many Great Grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Sarah was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Gene Sands.
No public visitation or funeral services will be observed. A private family service will be held at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
