Saturday Morning Crash

An early Saturday morning accident is under investigation by the Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office. 

Officials received a call reporting the one vehicle rollover near 20800 County Road 18 in Perry Township just before 12:30 a.m. 

Deputies said the vehicle driven by 21-year-old Joshua Redifer, of Zanesville, was traveling east on County Road 18 when he lost control and went off the right side of the roadway. 

Officials said his vehicle then slid along the road for about 50 feet, then flipped onto its side and began to roll down an embankment coming to rest on the passengers side in a field.

22-year-old Jelissa Atkins, of Zanesville, was thrown from the vehicle. She was alert and conscious at the scene, but was flown to OSU hospital for further evaluation. 

Authorities believe speed and alcohol are suspected factors in the accident which remains under investigation.
