Scott Wood

Scott Wood

Scott Edward Wood, 62, of Crooksville passed away peacefully on January 11, 2026, at Genesis Hospice Morrison House, just shy of his 63rd birthday. Born on January 14, 1963, in Zanesville, Ohio, to the Charles “Chuck” and Donna (Brown) Wood, Scott’s zest for life and love for the outdoors left an unforgettable mark on all who knew him. Scott was a cherished member of his family, a beloved father to his sons Scott A. Wood, Shawn Wood, and Nathan Wood. He was a proud grandfather to Angelina, Scott Jr, Cora, Benjamin, McKenna, Asher, Jordan, Andrew, Wynter, Steven, Maddie, and Maliah. He was a loving brother to Gary Wood and Kenny (Kimi) Wood. He also leaves behind aunts Beverly Brown and Kay (Butch) Ansel as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and many friends who will miss his presence dearly. His special friends, Rose and Robert, will fondly recall the laughter and warmth Scott brought into their lives. Scott’s professional life was spent at Value Auto Auction in Crooksville, where his sense of humor earned him among others the nickname “lot lizard” among his colleagues. His work was more than a job; it was an extension of his social life, where he made many lasting friendships. An adventurous soul, Scott relished the thrill of riding 4-wheelers, tearing through the streets and fields with a freedom that matched his spirit. He was also an avid fisherman, finding peace and solitude by the water—a bit of a contrast to the excitement of the gambling, which he indulged in with a mischievous grin, even when perhaps he shouldn’t. Those who knew Scott would describe him as friendly, always ready with a helping hand or a kind word. His adventurous nature was matched by his handiness, as there was no task that was too big or too small that he wouldn’t tackle with enthusiasm. Scott’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and the courage to embrace life’s adventures. Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Charles “Chuck” and Donna (Brown) Wood, and his siblings, Donald Wood, Doug Wood, and Tammy Reavley, as well as his special great nephew, Clayton Davis. Calling hours will be held Thursday January 15, 2026, from 4:00pm – 7:00pm at Ross-Frash Funeral Homes, 207 Burley Street, Crooksville. Following visitation, a dignified cremation will take place.
