Scotties Shine at Indoor Track and Field Championships

Tri-Valley track and field stars Kaylee Antill and Allie Farmer both signed national letters of intent to attend Division I colleges late last year. Over the weekend, the throwing duo proved that they are among the best of the best at the OATCCC Division I Indoor State Championships.

Antill brought home a pair of gold medals to Dresden, posting personal records in the shot put (44-4.75) and weight throw (60-2.25). The future Arizona State Sun Devil broke new ground in the weight throw by not only setting the state record, but also climbing to the top of the national leaderboard as the only girl to throw over 60 feet this season.

Farmer also earned a pair of medals, placing third in the shot put (38-11.00) and weight throw (44-4.5). The future Bowling Green Falcon posted a PR in the weight throw.

The Scotties nearly placed as a team solely from the performances of the two seniors. Antill and Farmer combined for 32 points, which was good enough to give Tri-Valley a fourth-place finish on Saturday.

Antill’s big weekend earned her a nomination for "National Girls’ Performer of the Week" on MileSplit. You can vote for her until Thursday, March 12 at 8 p.m. by visiting the link to the left.
