Seasonal Celebrations Take Over Downtown Cambridge
CAMBRIDGE, OH – If you’ve ever wished you could step inside a Christmas movie, this might be the closest thing yet. The Still MIND Project and the Downtown Arena have teamed up to deck the halls.
In the heart of downtown Cambridge, the “Get Lit Lounge” is lighting up the season, turning the Downtown Arena into a holiday pop-up designed to spread cheer and connection. It’s about creating a space where adults can step away from the stress of the season, and feel that childhood Christmas magic again.
“I feel like this is what Cambridge needs. This is what small town needs. I believe in local, I believe in small business and I want to bring the people from Cleveland and Columbus here because it’s magical. This feels like every Hallmark movie I’ve ever watched. I have every Christmas character from my childhood.” Vicki Stillion, the Still MIND Project creator said.
But beyond the lights and decorations, there’s a deeper meaning behind the magic. All proceeds from the pop-up support mental health and suicide prevention efforts.
“For my Still MIND Project, we go all over the country. We volunteer at nursing homes and we go in and do coloring sheets and I wrote a children’s book. It’s about my dog, Fyke, he’s a 7 year old yorkie-poo. And it’s about being your true self.” Stillion said. “The proceeds here go to my Still MIND Project and what we do. I’ve been reinvesting every dime for the past four or five years.”
So whether you’re stopping in for the lights, the festive drinks, or simply a moment of holiday cheer— The Get Lit Lounge is proving that the season shines brightest when it’s shared.
The lounge will be open on December 19th until midnight for those 18 and older. On Saturday, December 20th, doors open at 4 p.m. and stay open until 2 a.m. for guests 21 and over. On Sunday, December 21st, it will be open from 1 to 9 p.m., welcoming kids of all ages. The celebration continues next weekend, with doors opening Friday from 4 p.m. until midnight for guests 18 and older, and Saturday from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m., featuring both a live band and a DJ.
The Downtown Arena is located at 1005 Wheeling Avenue in Cambridge. The Get Lit Lounge is on the second floor.
