Second Grimmer Child Dies
A second child shot in a Texas welfare office standoff has died.
The NBC affiliate in Laredo, Texas reports that 10-year-old Timothy Grimmer passed away Thursday in a San Antonio hospital.
Timothy’s 12-year-old sister Ramie died Wednesday. Authorities say the two children were shot by their mother, 38-year-old Rachelle Grimmer, who is formerly of Crooksville. Both children were shot in their head at point-blank range following a standoff Monday. Rachelle Grimmer then killed herself.
Grimmer began the standoff in a Laredo welfare office because her family had reportedly been denied food stamps.
Grimmer and her children moved to Texas from Ohio this summer.
