ZANESVILLE, OH-Downtown Zanesville will be buzzing with creativity this Friday as the ZAAP art gallery welcomes a fresh wave of new artists to its walls. The gallery’s latest exhibit showcases the talent of artists making their debut at ZAAP. It’s a chance for visitors to discover new styles and celebrate the growing local art scene.
Director of ZAAP, Shelby Spilker, stated, “So this Friday, we have our new artist art show, and that’s going to be our artists that joined in 2025. So it’s just going to be a mix of all of our new artists. I think it’s really important for our our newer artists, because a lot of them haven’t had the chance to have a feature show and they don’t really know what goes into it and the planning. So having the new artist feature show is a nice way to give them an idea of what goes into it without the stress of having to plan it. ”
“There’s a whole mix. Since it is the new artist art show, there’s not just one person. So, everybody does something different. There are different types of paint, watercolor, acrylic, oil. We have some stained glass, photography. So, there’s just a little bit of everything this month. It is really important.”, Spilker stated. “I got started. It’s up to and when I first started here, it was just kind of a hobby. But now, you know, I direct here, and I go around to festivals, and I sell stuff online, so it’s a really great jumping off point to meet other artists.”
The First Friday Art Walk is free and open to the public.
