Semi Accident on I-70/Diesel Fuel Spill

The Zanesville Police Department says a semi lost control and went off the highway onto an on-ramp. Police say the truck was traveling west on I-70 around 2:00 Friday morning in the heavy rain when the trucker apparently lost control and drove off the interstate and ended up partially on the 6th street on-ramp to the highway. Police say the driver suffered a leg injury and was taken to Genesis HealthCare for treatment. The Muskingum County Emergency Management Agency was also called to the scene to help coordinate the removal of the semi, which did leak 120 gallons of diesel fuel. The accident remains under investigation. Traffic is being maintained on the interstate, but the 6th Street on-ramp is closed while crews pull the semi away. The Ohio E-P-A and the Ohio Department of Transportations were also called to the scene of the accident.
