ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Exciting news for Ohio University Zanesville students and staff.

Ohio Senator Troy Balderson announced funds for renovations to OUZ’s Herrold Hall.

“We decided to use Herrold Hall which currently houses the library and study spaces,” Associate Director of Nursing Pam Sealover said. “It’s going to be more efficient to use that building. We’re going to phrase in the movement of nursing from Elson Hall over to Herrold Hall.

The renovated space will contain nursing skill labs, classrooms, administrative offices, and a brand new library. Sealover said the nursing department at OUZ is spread out, now with the new funding they’ll be able to have the nursing staff and students in one location.

“Having the students, the faculty, and the administrative offices together. Having a new simulation suit. Right now, we have several rooms but the suit is going to allow us to put them together and to have more updated technology. We’re going to be able to provide a better experience for the students and that’s really why we’re here,” Sealover said.

Members of the state’s controlling board approved the release of just over $137,000 to begin the preliminary work for the renovations.
