Service Department to Take Shape

Over the next month and a half the shape of the downtown will begin to change. Dutro Ford on Fifth Street celebrated the start of their expansion with a groundbreaking, Tuesday morning, which included many city officials.

Already construction crews have begun moving dirt for what will become the site for a state of the art service and parts department. The new facility will be 37,000 square feet with 29 service stalls and an 8,000 square foot parts department.

“In the next week to ten days you’ll see digging footers and then putting concrete in. The steel has been ordered and Tri-Y is going to start putting that up I think that’s going to be the first/middle of June,” said Co-owner of Dutro Ford Bryan Graham.

The facility will also have heated floors, a circulating fan system, a coffee bar for customers and big screen TVs. This is just the first phase of the project. A new showroom will be built. The hope is once finished the dealership will bring both a revitalization to the downtown and employment.

“This will bring more traffic to downtown Zanesville. You make this type of investment and employee we’re thinking 20 plus more people and people will want to come down and see this facility we believe and we service and sell a lot of cars,” said Graham.

The project is estimated to cost $10 million and must be completed by December of 2016.
