Sewer Project Updates
Several sewer project updates were at the top of the Muskingum County Commissioners agenda Thursday.
Muskingum County Commissioner Jerry Lavy says the West Pike sewer project on Coopermill Road is nearing completion.
"Probably by the first of February, the letters will be going out to those homeowners for their hookups notices so the sewer will be ready to hook up there. And they will have about 120 days to hook up from the time they receive the letter, " says Lavy.
Meanwhile, the pump station off of Rusty Rifle road is also in the works to be replaced. The pump runs 19 feet into the ground and was built in 1984.
"We’re looking to replace the pump at that pump station. The pump was put in several years ago and repairs on it, the manufacturers no longer make it because its obsolete so it’s becoming harder to find repair parts, " adds Lavy.
Funding for the Coopermill Road project is partially funded through stimulus dollars and the Rusty Rifle project will be funded through the county.
