Sheridan in the Win Column After Victory over Watkins

THORNVILLE, OH

A tight-scoring game at first, the Sheridan Generals were looking for win number one of the season hosting Watkins. This was certainly the game for you if you like that defense early on. In the early going, the generals defense: Shawn Griffey, Greyson Poling mobbing the backfield to take down the quarterback.

Still scoreless at this point, but Luke Link was trying to change that for Sheridan. He busted out not just one, but two, a pair of strong runs for the Generals. But we got to go back to the defense in just a second. Great hustle coming up from Griffey one more time.

There’s that loose ball and he’s the first one to fall on it. But just like that, a couple of plays later, Watkins is going to get the ball right back. John Appel there to recover the fumble for the Warriors.

But after a defensive stop from Sheridan, here come the Generals on special teams. Logan Hupp hopping around the entire Watkins kicking team as he’s going to go 45 yards, all the way to the house for the touchdown as Sheridan gets the win in its home opener, 17-7.
