Sheriff: Fire Dept. Investigated

Muskingum County Sheriff Matt Lutz says an area volunteer fire department is being investigated for embezzlement. The Sheriff says his deputies are looking into the theft of a large sum of money from the Washington Township Fire Department. Lutz says a fire fighter has already admitted to the theft and has turned himself into authorities. The exact dollar amount of the theft has not been released. The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation is assisting in the case. No other details have been released.
