Chief Taylor says they will use sonar equipment in an effort to find the body of the missing man.
***UPDATE***
Muskingum County Sheriff Matt Lutz says his deputies and other first responders are searching for a man who jumped into Jonathan Creek near Prophets Park.
Lutz says it all started around 2:30 Friday morning when one of his deputies was trying to stop a vehicle and the driver crashed and fled on foot.
The Sheriff says the man jumped into Jonathon Creek in an effort to elude the deputy and went down about halfway across the waterway.
Authorities are currently searching for the man from the banks and in boats. Troopers from the Zanesville Post of the Highway Patrol, South Zanesville Fire Department and other agencies are assisting on the scene.
