ZANESVILLE, Ohio-Â This Sunday the Carolina panthers will go head to head with the Denver broncos in Super Bowl 50. Its a big party weekend.
Many of you will be watching for the football and others may watch just for the commercials. Whatever the reason Muskingum County Sheriff Matt Lutz wants you to keep a few things in mind while you are on your way a Super Bowl party.
“Texting is such a big thing in the forefront now. Just pay attention to what you’re doing. I have a new driver in my family. My son is 15 and he has a permit. So we’re always stressing to him to be familiar with your surroundings. The overall goal of our office is to try to make the community a safe place to have fun and live. We just want everyone to enjoy the weekend and get through it without having any issues,” said Sheriff Lutz.
Sheriff Lutz said there will be an increase in law enforcement officers patrolling this weekend.
“Our guys are out there to try to help slow down everybody. They will give a lot of warnings. A lot of tickets when they are running radar. We are out there looking for intoxicated drivers. We always want to caution people about operating vehicles under the influence of alcohol. We want to make sure they have safe plans in mind. We want everyone to enjoy super bowl weekend,” said Lutz.
Lutz said the goal of the safe communities coalition is to ensure the safety of all motorists.
