Shirley Bryant

Shirley Bryant, 82, of Junction City, passed away peacefully Thursday, January 15, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born April 13, 1944, the daughter of Bus Thompson and Mae (McCord) Thompson and married James A. Bryant who preceded her in death.

Shirley was Catholic by Faith, and was an avid gardener. Her greatest joys were her family, grandchildren and pet dogs. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who cherished her family.

Shirley is survived by her children, Dick (Michelle) Bryant, Debra (Roger) Rose, James (Becky) Bryant, Jr., Penny Lynn (Johnny) Baker and Jack (Mindi) Bookhamer; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Shirley was preceded in death by three siblings, Dave Thompson, Bob Thompson, and Nancy Williams.

Friends may call 4:00 to 8:00pm on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at the Roberts-Winegardner Funeral Home, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington, and one hour prior to services from10:00 to 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 21, 2026. Funeral Services will follow on Wednesday at the funeral home with Rev. Richard Newlon officiating. Shirley will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband in Whippstown Cemetery.
