Shooting Reported On Mead Street In Zanesville

The Zanesville Police Department received reports of multiple shots fired around 7:30 Thursday evening on Mead Street.

So far, no suspect or victim has been named in the incident. Sergeant Jon McCoy of the Zanesville Police Department told us what they know so far.

"Dispatch advised us that they had received calls in reference to shots fired around the area of 319 Mead Street. Second call came in advised that the individual had been hit and that we had one individual down at the scene. Officers responded along with FD and first responders. Once we arrived on scene we checked the outside of the residence, immediately went inside. At this time it’s still under investigation as to what actually happened here."

Area hospitals were alerted to be on the look out for any shooting victims that may check in. Zanesville Police Department, Genisis Community Ambulance and Zanesville Fire Department all responded. We will bring you more information as it becomes available.
