CROOKSVILLE, Ohio-Â The Crooksville Fire Department received a donation Wednesday.
Shrivers Pharmacies donated a Milwaukee Sawzall to the Crooksville Fire Department. Shrivers’ chief marketing officer Jessica Sabine said Shrivers’ learned about the fire departments need for the sawzall after opening a Shrivers Pharmacy in Crookville.
“It was easy for us to donate a sawzall and some extra batteries,” said Sabine. “Because learning through those conversations they are able to use those sometimes more than even the jaws of life. That was something easy we could do and make a quick impact here in the community. We’re happy to give the tools they need to get the job done. ”
Crooksville assistant fire chief Mark Dalrymple gratefully accepted this donation.
“Right now we’ve got a couple sawzalls but they’re old,” said Dalrymple. “And we tried to use them on extrications and we haven’t been able to use them, because they just won’t do the job. This is a great donation, because a lot of times we can’t get our jaws of life in certain spots where we can get the sawzall into cut. We can also use it for other extrication too, besides car extrication. We can use them for structure fires or entrapment, a little bit of everything.”
Crooksville has not used this new piece of equipment yet, but the fire department is ready to use it if necessary. Dalrymple said the Crooksville community has really rallied behind the fire department. He said the fire department would not have a lot of things that they do have if it wasn’t for the generosity of the community.
