Sobriety Checkpoint Results
Only one arrest was made and there were only a handful of citations handed out in Friday’s sobriety checkpoint in Zanesville.
The Zanesville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol performed the checkpoint on Northpointe Drive near Brandywine Boulevard. During the checkpoint, 525 vehicles were stopped for an average of 30 seconds.
The State Highway Patrol reported that five drivers were detained or diverted because they had been drinking, did not have a license or had a suspended license From that, two drivers were issued citations for driving under suspension and one was cited for not having an operator’s license.
An OSHP unit also seized a minor misdemeanor amount of marijuana, a grinder and a marijuana pipe. A Zanesville Police Department unit arrested one suspect on a felony warrant.
The OSHP and the Zanesville Police Department were assisted by the Ohio Department of Transportation.
