Son Indicted For Shooting Mom

A Perry County man was indicted by a Grand Jury today for shooting his mother in the head.

Sergeant Kevin Starrett says Michael Callis was indicted on one count of attempted murder with a firearm specification.

“He was indicted on one count of attempted murder with a firearm specification, which is a first degree felony,” said Starrett. “The second thing was a felonious assault charge, which is a second degree felony.”

Sergeant Starrett says Callis shot his mother, Kristina Boring, on May 21st at 211 West Ewing Street in New Straitsville.

Boring has since been treated and released from the hospital.

Callis will be arraigned in Perry County Common Pleas Court next week.
