South Branch Library to Host Estate Planning Program

ZANESVILLE, OH – The Muskingum County Library System is hosting a program to help guardians protect their children’s future.

The program is called “Estate Planning, Protecting Their Future” and in it, participants will learn more about how to safeguard the interest of their loved ones.

Jennifer Heston, the Customer Service Specialist at the South Branch Library, talked about who the event is geared towards and about the guest speaker for the program.

“We have Robert Barga of Eques Law coming next Wednesday at 2PM,” Heston said. “He’s going to be speaking primarily about circumstances where you might be in charge legally of your adult child because of disability or a drug addiction.”

Heston said they felt like there was a need for a program like this one.

“We feel there is a need here in our community, a good bit of it due to the unfortunate circumstances that addiction has touched many families,” Heston said. “It has also created situations where parents, sometimes siblings, do have to take charge. As those circumstances change for them and perhaps they will at some point be able to take control of their own lives again. But in the meantime, they may have a family member looking out for them.”

“Estate Planning, Protecting Their Future” will take place at the South Branch Library on Wednesday March 20th from 2 to 3PM.

If you are interested in registering for this program, you can head to the Library’s website.
