SOUTH ZANESVILLE, Ohio- The South Zanesville Council Committee is looking to make additions to the South Zanesville Village Park and wants thoughts and ideas from the community.

There will be a public meeting at Village Hall on April 26 at 7 p.m. The council is currently in line for a grant from Natureworks of Ohio.

“We have a lower park, that’s down off Milldale, and we’d like to see right over here beside the shelter house, clear out the woods and bring it down, fill it in and bring a hill down to join the two parks and maybe have that hill as a sleigh ride hill or something,” South Zanesville Mayor Barb Lloyd said.

The most recent addition was about four years ago which included a skateboard park. Mayor Lloyd mentioned possibly a dog park and walking trail.

“We’ve got a lot of beautiful greenery and trees here in the park, shelter house. Things for the public to utilize here in South Zanesville. We want to make the village park better. We have some ideas, but we really need the help of the public,” Council Committee member Paul Lowe said.

The council hopes that newer additions will attract more people to the park.
