Southeast Ohio Symphony Orchestra To Perform At Secrest

The Southeast Ohio Symphony Orchestra in partnership with Muskingum University is set to perform in Zanesville Wednesday, December 3rd.

The concert will begin at 7PM at Secrest Auditorium and is free to the public. All you have to do is bring a non perishable food item which will be given to Christ’s Table. John P. Kunkel III, the Business Manager of the Orchestra, told us what kind of music we can expect.

"All kinds. It’s a pops concert. There’ll be some classical touches, some traditional. Sleigh Ride. Things like that. Fun things for the kids and some moving things too."

The symphony has been has been gracing audiences with their beautiful music for 41 years now. Kunkel says that he feels a lot of people in the community find Christmas cheer in these concerts.

"Well for one thing, the key word is free and its the holidays and a lot of people this time of year, they just don’t have the funds to do things. A lot of people make this a family event. They’ll bring everybody in their family to hear the music and get into the Christmas spirit…I think its just a tradition anymore."

About 1,500 people are expected to attend Wednesday’s performance.
