Spring Celebration Planned for March 7 at Secrest

ZANESVILLE, Ohio — A victory celebration is planned for next week at Secrest Auditorium in downtown Zanesville.

The event is to celebrate our local veterans and active-duty military, and is being organized by the Muskingum Chapter of the American Revolution.

“It boils down to it being a big block party down at Secrest. We’re in the basement. We’re going to have food trucks outside but we wanted a way to give back to the veterans and active duty in our community,” says Samatha Roush, Vice Regent of the Muskingum Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Tickets are 15-dollars for adults — and 10-dollars for children. There will be music, rock painting, corn hole games and a silent auction.

“The event is from 1 until 6 at Secrest Auditorium. Any veteran or active-duty military can get in free. We are having food trucks and then people that are just non-military can purchase tickets and every ticket that’s received, whether you’re a veteran or you’re purchasing one has a food voucher on it that you can turn in to the food trucks,” says Mary Ann DeVolld, Regent of the Muskingum Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

The purpose of the event is to provide an afternoon of inspiration and entertainment for veterans as one way of combating the suicide rate among active-duty military. Profits will go to the Mighty Oaks Warrior foundation.
