Spring garden season

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- As the weather continues to improve, people are getting in the full swing of spring by tending to their gardens.

Timber Run Gardens Manager, Kathy Mohler, said it is officially time to get outside and get your garden planted. She said most of the cold days are behind us and this is the perfect time to start planting your garden.

“It’s been a long winter and everybody’s geared up and ready to get out there and work in their garden. We’re pretty much in the clear now to plant just about everything. They always say Mother’s Day is your cut off date, so I think we’re close enough now that we can put just about anything out there,” said Mohler.

Mohler said there are a variety of plants that people can include in their gardens. She said what you plant will depend on how much sunlight your garden receives each day. She recommended petunias being part of your flower garden.

“I just love the color and they spread, they just (have) on-going color all summer long,” said Mohler.

Mohler said anything from a full garden to a potted plant adds to the beauty of a home.
