Springtime with the Muskingum Valley Garden Society

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – As you are driving around downtown or along the Y-Bridge you may notice flowers along the way.
The Muskingum Valley Garden Society is responsible for planting those flowers and taking care of them throughout the year. Founder and President Brian McLoughlin said they have 159 street level pots.
“If you want to sponsor a container in memory of a loved one, or a veteran, or if you want to sponsor it for your business you can do that by going to our website,” McLoughlin said.
It costs $125 to sponsor a pot for the entire season and they will maintain them during that time. There are other ways to get involved with the Muskingum Valley Garden Society as we are slowly but surely getting closer to Springtime.
“We’ll take people of all ages, all skill levels. You don’t have to be a master gardener to be a part of our group you just have to have a passion for wanting to do something different in the community and wanting to do what you can to do your part to improve the community,” McLoughlin said.
If you would like to learn more about the Muskingum Valley Garden Society or are interested in sponsoring a container of flowers, you can head to their website.
