St. Thomas Festival Kicks Off Thursday

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – An annual festival is kicking off the Summer season.
The St. Thomas festival is a tradition for area families and the community. The festival will feature a variety of food, games, and live entertainment. Something new for the kids this year is a fun, retro video game system that will be set up. There will also be more giveaways and drawings participants can get involved with. All the money raised from the festival will go towards the Parish.
“The festival here is always the money that’s raised. It’s our largest fundraiser for the year, and it’s for the Parish. And that money is often used to help offset some of the school tuition,” said St. Thomas festival committee member, Jenifer Dittmar.
The committee is a small group that started planning the festival in January, and their goal is to have a great outcome of people and bring family fun to the community.
“So every year, this has kind of been like a homecoming for people. And it’s something that the local people can do, bring their kids to, enjoy the evening. Hopefully we have great weather, it looks like it might hold out for us this year. And it’s something that people can look forward to every year,” Dittmar said.
The festival runs from June 6th through the 8th, located at the corners of 5th and Shinnick Streets in Downtown Zanesville. Admission is free. Gates open at 5 p.m.
