Stamm Named ZAAP Gallery Artist of the Month

ZANESVILLE, OH – Ronnie W. Stamm has been named the ZAAP Gallery Artist of the Month for February.

Stamm is a 73 year-old Army veteran who describes his art style as extreme abstract and pulls his inspiration from his imagination.

He said he enjoys working alone in his barn, playing around with color combinations and chemical formulas to get the final looks for his pieces.

“I can’t get any deeper than where I’m at this point but it’s constantly evolving,” Stamm said. “My formulas, my mixture of colors, it’s just constantly changing and I’m not going to stop, I love every minute of it because abstract is infinitive, it’ll just go on and on. You can never reach the end of abstract study, abstract concept.”

Stamm said his art journey began in the 70’s with just painting on any medium he could get his hands on. He said he’s painted on items like wooden pallet boards and roofing slates but nowadays prefers to use canvases.

Stamm said it’s been an amazing time being named the ZAAP Artist of the month and he’s excited to see everyone come out for the First Friday Artwalk.

“It’s wonderful, I’ve had nothing but fun every minute of ZAAP,” Stamm said. “The people are great, the artists in Southeastern Ohio, it’s just wonderful. I mean it’s something for the whole family to come out and enjoy.”

Stamm’s works as well as artwork from some of the artists at ZAAP will be on display this Friday for the First Friday Artwalk from 5 to 8PM.

The ZAAP Gallery is located at 625 Main St. in Downtown Zanesville.
