State Officials Highlight Energy Priorities at Annual Legislative Breakfast

ZANESVILLE, OH – The Zanesville-Muskingum County Chamber hosted their annual Legislative Breakfast this morning, providing community members a chance to hear from their local and state representatives.
The speakers included Congressman of the 12th Ohio District, Troy Balderson, Senator of the 31st District, Al Landis, and State Representative of the 97th District, Adam Holmes.
Congressman Balderson says today was an amazing event to be able to share important information with our community.
“We talked today about what we’re doing in Washington D.C. and some of the priorities that we have, which is energy.” Balderson said. “I have the opportunity to serve on the Commerce Committee, I’m on the subcommittees for energy, but the importance of energy and what it means here to Muskingum County.”
Energy was the popular topic at the breakfast today with Senator Landis and Representative Holmes also sharing updates from their offices.
“We’re all focused on the same subjects, and one of the most important things is energy.” Senator Landis said. “I’ve talked about it before about it being national security and it’s being recognized at the federal level about how important it is. Now that I’m Vice Chair of Energy in the Senate, which I’m honored to be with Brian Chavez from Marietta, we feel we’re going to put out some very meaningful, substantial legislation.”
“The number on topic here is energy and that’s become a national priority.” Representative Holmes said. “We talked a lot about how where we live in our community is right in the center of that discussion, it’s pretty energizing.”
The breakfast concluded with questions from the audience for each of the Officials present today.
