Staying Healthy During the Holidays
It’s that time of year when many of us will overindulge during the holidays.
As we inch closer to a new year, many people will vow to get out and get fit after months of overindulging. But, there is a way you could get a head start on ways to eat and live healthy now. If you’re looking to bring your workout indoors during this season, the Muskingum Recreation Center is the perfect place to start.
“We’re getting revved up for our holiday season and we want to encourage everybody to keep exercising during the holidays. Most people gain about a pound over the holidays and it takes a lot of effort and time to get rid out that pound and over the years, if you keep putting on a pound of course it’s hard to take it off,” said Becky Weir.
Fortunately, you can break that cycle and you don’t need to carve out a huge amount of time to do it. Weir told us if you are starting fresh, you should try to dedicate at least three days.
“Don’t start off very fast, maybe walking would be a good choice to do start with swimming actually too. Don’t burn yourself out all at once; maybe three times a week, then work your way up to five to seven time a week,” said Weir.
For ways you can get started towards your holiday fitness goals you can contact the Muskingum Recreation Center at 740-454-4767.
