MALTA, OH- The Malta/McConnelsville Rotary will host the Front Street Fest on Thursday, September 11, at the park on Front Street in Malta.

The free community event runs from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and features live music, food vendors, and an American Pride segment remembering 9/11 with a color guard, pledge of allegiance, and patriotic songs.

Musician Steve Spires will perform from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., following opening performer Evan Abood.

“Just really everything, being around and being able to see all of the people and the local businesses…and be able to be out and singing. There is a friend of mine that’s going to open, Evan Abood…so it’s nice to be able to be around, a lot of times you don’t get to see fellow musicians because you’re all out singing and playing, so that’ll be fun to be around all them,” said featured musician Steve Spires.

Spires added that he’s grateful for the chance to perform for the local community.

“Thanks for letting me kind of be part of it, and entertaining…it just means something nice…when people seem to come to shows and they enjoy things and it’s just that you work so hard at it, it’s awful nice when things like that happen,” Spires said.
