Stock Car Show rolls into Colony Square Mall
Interviewed by WHIZ reporter Gabe Hutton

Shoppers visiting Colony Square Mall this weekend have more than just retail to look forward to, as the 2026 Stock Car Show brings racing culture indoors with a display of cars, drivers and community engagement.
The event features a variety of stock cars on display, giving attendees an up-close look at the vehicles that take to the track during race season. Organizers also provided information for those interested in getting involved in the sport, whether as drivers, crew members or fans. Young drivers were also in attendance, offering visitors the chance to meet some of the sport’s up-and-coming competitors.
Ray Seifert, owner of Midway Speedway, said “Racecar drivers are a unique bunch of people. They’ll help each other and then try to beat each other on the track,” Seifert said. “Most people will help you out and give you everything. If you don’t know about racing, they’ll help you get your car set up to run well and will help you in any way they can.”
In addition to showcasing the sport, Midway Speedway used the event as an opportunity to give back by hosting a food drive. Attendees were encouraged to donate canned goods, which will be distributed to a local food bank.
The event also highlighted upcoming racing opportunities, inviting community members to participate or simply attend as fans throughout the season.
“Dirt track racing is one of the finest sports to go watch and spend a night with the family,” Seifert said. “It’s good for a Saturday night, or this year we actually have some Sunday nights that we’re not going to run too late, so you can still get home and work for the next morning.”
The Stock Car Show continues through Sunday during mall hours, giving visitors another chance to stop by, explore the cars and learn more about local racing.
