Stolen ATV Wrecked by Suspect
A man is in serious condition after authorities say he wrecked a stolen ATV.
Muskingum County Sheriff Matt Lutz said at about 10:30 Tuesday morning deputies spotted a man on a red 4-wheeler matching the description of the bike stolen from a Philo resident last week.
When a deputy attempted to pull over the man, Lutz said he took off behind a home and entered the woods. Officers continued searching the area and at about 11 o’clock the suspect was spotted again, entering the roadway and taking off at a high rate of speed.
Lutz said a few moments later he encountered the suspect at the intersection of Denis Road and East Darlington- where the suspect lost control and wrecked the bike.
Lutz said the man, who’s name is not being released, was not wearing a helmet and was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
