Stone Sentenced In Crime Spree

A Coshocton man who went on a crime spree in 2010 is sentenced Monday in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court. 23-year-old Christopher Stone pleaded guilty to two counts of kidnapping, two counts of aggravated robbery and two counts of theft. Sheriff Matt Lutz says last year Stone along with co-defendant 25-year-old Michael Burkhart tied up employees at knifepoint at Six County Crisis Hotline Center on Dillon Acres Drive, where they were voluntarily receiving mental health counseling. Lutz says they took workers cash, credit cards and a vehicle and fled the scene. The duo was later caught in Pennsylvania robbing a grocery store. Stone waived his pre-sentence investigation and was sentenced to 11 years in prison. Burkhart was sentenced last week  to 15 years in prison for his role in the crime.
