Street Names to Change

Some street name changes will be coming to Muskingum County.

The change is mainly designed to deter oversized semi-truck from following GPS directions taking them through the State Route 666 underpass. Oversized trucks who can’t fit are forced to back up, posing more of a danger to the already tight-quarters.

Other street names scheduled to change will mainly affect the East Point Business Park in Washington Township. Portions of Bateman Road, Jim Granger Drive , Gene Sands Drive and all of Future Drive will now be referred to as part of East Point Drive.

Muskingum County Commissioners held a public hearing this morning asking for any concern of opposition. No one came out. Commissioners were unsure when the new road signs will be in place.
