Student art on display at Julie’s ARTery

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Friday was the First Friday Artwalk in Downtown Zanesville, and Julies ARTery utilized the event to showcase their students hard work.

Julie’s Artery, located on 7th Street, offers classes through a wide variety of mediums for a wide variety of age groups. The studio displayed artwork from their Fall session classes including works that were created by students like Kelly Frost and her family.

“The classes have been wonderful. We moved here in 2021 and that following summer I was looking for something for my daughter for a birthday gift. We did a painting class for her and that’s how we found out about Julie’s and since then my daughters taking drawing classes, ceramics classes and painting classes,” Frost said. “My son takes a ceramics class and like I’ve said I take the crocheting class. So, it’s been a way for us to get to know others in the community and for us all to be creative.”

For owner and teacher Julie Goodall, seeing the progress made by her students and the pride in displaying their work is what makes the job so fulfilling.

“It’s the best job in the world. It doesn’t even feel like work when we’re here. Just watching students create pieces that they’re proud of, take risks and learn new things, that’s the best part,” Goodall said.
