Student art shines at the Salt Fork Arts Festival

CAMBRIDGE, Ohio – The 55th Annual Salt Fork Arts and Crafts Festival is in full swing at Cambridge City Park and art is overflowing from the Student Art Tent.
K -12 students from four different counties and 15 schools have submitted artwork that is proudly on display during the festival’s weekend run. All forms of art, from painting to crochet, are being seen by the community that supports and props up their art.
“It’s been astounding. We see families come together. They make this appointment viewing. They will come out every day and they’ll see parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles checking out and to share that great triumph of their child. And they get to see how cool their kids are and, I mean, that’s the fun part for me,” Student Arts Chair Stephanie Bridwell said.
Bridwell, said that the inclusion of students and their art in the festival is a key to its longevity. Ensuring that the communities long standing tradition stays standing.
“This festival has been going on 55 years but it can’t go for another 55 if we don’t encourage our young artists and we need to have a reason that our kids know that we’re supporting them and that we want to see their creativity. Because, they’re the future and we really feel committed to encouraging young artists because we want them to display and be part of our community, ” Bridwell said.
The Salt Fork Arts and Crafts Festival is free to the public and can be found in the Cambridge City Park all weekend long. More information about the festival can be found on their website.
