Summer Art Camps Available at the Zanesville Museum of Art
ZANESVILLE, OH – The Zanesville Museum of art is not only a place to view artwork but also a place where you can learn to create art.
Starting this Saturday, the Zanesville Museum of art is hosting a series of summer art camps available for multiple artistic mediums like glass art, working with clay, and digital painting and drawing. Camps are offered for a variety of age groups starting with a six to nine year old group and includes an 18 and up group on Saturdays.
“Yeah. So, our summer art camps, they all involve hands on art activities of course, but then also special tours through the museum and sometimes there’s singing and story time and there’s really something for everyone at the summer art camps,” said Misty Johnson, the education coordinator for the museum.
While some view the camp as an opportunity to expand their artistic skills and understanding, but Johnson sees and added benefit to participating.
“I just love how much fun the kids have when they’re there. It’s not just about making art it’s about making friends and memories. So we see kids who have never met before make best friends and plan play dates for the rest of the summer. So it’s great for socialization, it’s great for just building confidence and having fun, but also having a chance to really be creative and kind of boost those creative skills too,” Johnson said.
The Zanesville Museum of Art can be found on Military Road with information and registration available on their website.
