Summer Concert Series Moves to Zane’s Landing

ZANESVILLE, OH – It may still be spring, but the city is already planning for summer fun. Zanesville’s annual concert series is set to return with a few changes this year.
The annual series features tribute bands performing popular hits, with each headlining act expected to play 15 songs. Because of ongoing construction at Secrest Auditorium, this year’s Summer Concert Series will move to Zane’s Landing. The new location will offer a scenic setting while keeping the popular tradition alive.
“The nice thing about Zane’s Landing is the river and the cool breeze that comes off of it will really be beneficial. There are many times in June and July where it’s very hot on the Secrest parking lot asphalt until the sun goes down and it starts to cool. We’ll have the stage set up near where the Lorena is and people will be basically pointing north as they watch the concerts.” Zanesville City Mayor, Don Mason, said.
This year, the concert season will begin in June instead of May, giving the weather a chance to warm up for a more comfortable outdoor experience.
“June 11th will be our first show. All of our concerts will start with DJ Adonis warming up the crowd, and we all love DJ Adonis. Everyone will have an opening act at 6 o’clock, and they’ll be local. Then the headliner will be at 7:30. So, on June 11th we’ve got Big Bad Stache out of Columbus doing the opening act, then we have Use Your Illusion which is a Guns N Roses Tribute band coming in at 7:30.” Mayor Mason said.
Mayor Mason says they’re also working with SEAT to arrange bus transportation, so attendees won’t have to walk to the park. Secrest Auditorium will be sharing the full concert schedule on their social media pages.
