Support Local Students with ‘The Donation Tree’

ZANESVILLE, OH- Colony Square Mall has teamed up with the Eastside Community Ministry for “The Donation Tree” initiative.
Now through August, members of the community are encouraged to pick a tag from the tree near T.J. Maxx, purchase the listed items, and drop them off at the designated sites within the mall or directly at Eastside Community Ministry. Donations will support local children as they prepare for the new school year.
“This is a unique thing we have set up with a Christmas tree here in the month of June, and we’re hoping to gain a lot of attention and awareness for items needed as local children and families are already preparing for the back to school season. We’ve partnered with Eastside Community Ministry, as well as their efforts with the Lace Up For Kids program, and last year they served over 900 kids here in our area preparing for back to school and items in need are shoes, socks, underwear, outfits of all sizes,” said the Colony Square Mall General Manager Jessica Brailer.
The collected items will be distributed during the Lace Up For Kids Extravaganza and Health Fair.
“I think this is helping to raise awareness, that we do have a lot of community members here in need and each of us that are able to, it’s something small that we can maybe do that’s going to make lasting impact on a child as they get ready for back to school, that new outfit, new pair of shoes, is going to help that child have confidence and feel good about themselves as they start the school year,” said Brailer.
This program relies on donations from the community. For more details you can visit the Colony Square Mall website.
