Susan Bates

Susan J. Bates, age 76, of Cumberland, Ohio, died Monday, March 3, 2025, at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville. She was born July 4, 1948, in Cambridge, daughter of the late Otis A. and O. Ruth Wisdom Carr. Susan was a 1966 graduate of Meadowbrook High School and Meredith Business College in Zanesville. She was employed by GE in New Concord and she was a beloved mother and homemaker. She attended Buffalo Presbyterian Church in Cumberland. Susan enjoyed doing word search puzzles and she was an excellent cook. She was devoted to her husband, children, and grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by an infant sister; and two brothers, Raymond Otis Carr and an infant brother.

Surviving are her husband, Dickie R. Bates, whom she married July 6, 1968; her children, Michelle L. (Tim) Fadorsen of Pataskala and Troy A. (Andrea) Bates of Cumberland; 5 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
