Susan “Susie” Barker

Susan “Susie” L. Barker, 73 of Zanesville, died 5:15 PM, Monday, October 12, 2026, at Altercare of Zanesville, following a brief illness. She was born Friday, December 5, 1952, in Zanesville, the daughter of Carl Adair and Helen Louise (Gobel) Adair. She married Glen E. Barker on Saturday, November 11, 1989, who preceded her in death on Wednesday, December 25, 2013.

Susie was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, who greatly cherished the time she spent with her family. She enjoyed gardening, family reunions, and road trips with her friend, Martha, especially taking fall foliage tours. Susie was an amazing cook, and everyone enjoyed coffee, and chats at her home.

Susie is survived by three children, Kelli (Tarney) Rine, and Chuck (Rachel) Miller; Karen (Todd) Dunlap; grandchildren, Jackie (Andrew Clary) Barker, Katie (Dylan) Mullens, Selina Barker, Elisa Barker, Brandon (Kacey) Barker, Kyle (Marlenia) Dunlap, Nikki (Shane) Wickham, Jessica Burk, Samantha (Bo) Haddox, Charles Miller, Jr., Don Ethell, Amber Glosser, Brandy Shaffer, Megan Hall, Samantha Bennett, and Michael Blevins; several great grandchildren; four siblings, Robert (Yvonne) Adair, William (Sandy) Adair, Jeff (Karen) Adair, and Richard (Sharon) Adair, her life-long friend, Martha Smith, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In addition to her parents, Susie was preceded in death by her husband, Glen Barker; one son, Brian Barker; one grandson, Christopher Miller; one great grandson, Dallas Barker, and one brother & sister-in-law, C.S.M. Retired, Tedd & Anne Adair, U.S. Army.
