Suspect arrested in Zanesville homicide

ZANESVILLE, Ohio–The Zanesville Police Department has arrested a suspect in an early morning homicide.
According to Captain Chris Phipps, 24-year-old Dustin Cox of Zanesville has been charged with aggravated murder with a gun specification and tampering with evidence in connection to the shooting death of 21-year-old Martisa Palmer.
Police said Cox was arrested in a parked vehicle Monday outside a southeast area residence in Zanesville.
Around 3:20 a.m. Monday, police were called to 609 Pershing Road for a report of a disturbance.
When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered Palmer dead from a gunshot wound.
Cox is being held in the Zanesville City Jail on a $1,000,000 bond.
