Sweethearts and Surprises: The Dancing Divas are Ready for Season 13

ZANESVILLE, OH – Season 13 of Dancing with the Divas kicked off with the Sweethearts and Surprises event.

On Saturday, the Dancing Divas hosted their Sweethearts and Surprises event at Weasel Boy Brewing Company, marking the official kickoff to the upcoming season. Dancing with the Divas is similar to Dancing with the Stars but on a local level, raising money for charities not only in Muskingum County but throughout Ohio. Over the past 12 years, the event has made a significant impact, raising over four hundred thousand dollars for various causes.

Dancing Divas Artistic Director Trudy Cultice shared her excitement for the annual event especially since she is set to compete this year.

“In the past 12 years, we have raised over $480,000 and the wonderful thing about this event is the money doesn’t go to our group alone. We support charities in Muskingum County and Ohio that the celebrities want to support.”

This year, about eight charities were recognized during Saturday night’s event. While dancing was encouraged, the evening focused more on the social aspect—bringing people together for a night of mingling and fun. Guests enjoyed a DJ, food, and raffles.

One of the highlights of the night was the surprise unveiling of this season’s celebrity dancers.

“This is one of our favorite events,” Cultice said. “We are revealing our celebrities for season 13 of Dancing with the Divas, which will be held July 19th at Eagle Sticks. So, it’s kind of a surprise tonight—people come, they don’t really know what’s happening, and so the celebrities are introduced, and we get the excitement in the town going.”

Tickets for Dancing with the Divas go on sale June 1st on Eventbrite. Organizers say billboards featuring this season’s celebrity dancers will be unveiled soon.
