SZFD Announces F-150 Raffle Winner

SOUTH ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Automobiles nowadays can cost more than a year’s wage, which makes winning one seem like a humongous jackpot.
The South Zanesville Fire Department raffled off a brand new, Ford F-150, worth more than $54,000.
“The truck here is a 2025 Ford F-150, was on our raffle,” South Zanesville Fire Department Chief Russell Taylor said. “We started the raffle several months ago. And our lucky winner on this was Lynda Paul. And I just got off the phone with her and she was very happy and they were looking to buy a new truck but they waited until this raffle and they won. All proceeds to go from this will go towards equipment and other endeavors we do around the station and around the community. And it’s just a big support from our community and surrounding communities to help make this possible.”
Each contestant was assigned a numbered plastic chip that was tossed around in a rotating tumbler. The winning number was drawn by Zanesville Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce President Dana Matz, who agreed to be the ‘celebrity’ impartial chip selector.
“This come from Dutro, local,” Taylor said. “We also have a car up, right now for raffle. $22 dollars a ticket for it. It’s coming from our local Honda dealership. We try to buy everything local. It’s a Honda Accord. 39 miles to the gallon, so if you need a good car for your kid or you need a good car just to travel back and forth to work, it’s $22 bucks a ticket.”
