Teen Charged in Friend’s Shooting
The Muskingum County Prosecutor’s Office has filed charges against an 18-year-old Hopewell man for a 2009 shooting death.
Assistant Prosecutor Jim Workman says after a 19-month-long forensic investigation with the help of the Bureau of Criminal Investigation, they have charged Brandon Kimble with a third-degree-felony charge of reckless homicide with a gun specification.
Workman says they believe on February 13, 2009 at Kimble’s home on Macedonia Road, he recklessly disregarded the known risk by pointing a gun at his friend 19-year-old Corey Taylor. The gun went off and Taylor was killed.
Kimble will be charged in Juvenile Court since he was 17 at the time of the shooting. If he is found to be an adjudicate delinquent he could be committed to Juvenile Detention for anywhere from six months until he’s 21-years-old.
Workman says Kimble will appear in Juvenile Court for his arraignment within the next two weeks. He’s being held in the Muskingum County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
