Teen Says Mrs. Howard Lectured Them About Drinking

The trial of a Zanesville couple charged in connection with a house party where a teenager died entered day two Thursday. 45-year-old Warren Howard and his 43-year-old wife, Tamara of Taylor Street face multiple counts of child endangering. During the first day of testimony Zanesville City Law Director Scott Hillis says the Howard’s were reckless on the night of July 15th in letting children say overnight at their home. Hillis says their inaction created risks for the teens, which included drinking alcohol. Today a 17-year-old male testified they drank at the Howard’s home 3 to 8 times before July. He said Mrs. Howard caught them once and gave them a lecture. The teenager testified they told the Howard’s they were just hanging out and he admitted they drank at other kids houses before and never got caught. The trial is expected to wrap-up later Thursday in Zanesville Municipal Court.
